This research aims to find out the Barnum’s ways to survive his hard life in The Greatest Showman movie. All data is taken from the film as well as the film script. This research focuses on 1 character, that is Barnum and focuses on ways to survive of Barnum in his life. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method in analyzing and describing the Barnum’s ways to survive his hard life in The Greatest Showman movie. The researcher analyzed the data by following some steps, first was collecting the data, second was identifying the data, the third was analyzing the data, the fourth was describing the data, and the last was determining the conclusion. Based on the analysis, the researcher found the condition of Barnum’s life. The researcher also found the Barnum’s ways to get out from the hard life based on James Wesley’s theory. The results of this research are the Researchers divided Barnums condition into 3 conditions, that is poor, sad and happy conditions. The researcher also explained each event from each condition. After that the researcher also found 8 ways Barnum got out of a hard life. Barnum is a very patient and smart person, every bad condition he faces, he always keeps on fighting. He wanted to prove that poor people can also be successful. Barnum has his own way to get success.
