This research focus on flouting maxim occured in the talk show. This aimed at analyze the types of flouting maxim and the reason of flouting maxim. The objective of this research are: 1) to know the types of flouting maxims are performed by Nadiem Makarim in Deddy Corbuzier talk show (2) to explain the reasons of flouting maxims that happened by Nadiem makarim in Deddy Corbuzier talk show. This research was descriptive qualitative. It concerned with the description of the data in the form of utterances produced by Nadiem Makarim in Deddy Corbuzier talk show published in 2020. A documentation was applied to collect the data. There are three steps to analyze the data, they are (a) data reduction, (b) data display, and (c) conclusion and verification. An analysis of flouting maxim are classified by Grice’s theory into 4 types which are flouting maxim of quantity, flouting maxim of quality, flouting maxim of relation, flouting maxim of manner. The results show that all maxims of Cooperative Principle are flouted. There are 17 cases of total flouting (100%): 9 cases of the flouting maxim of quantity (53,0%), 2 cases of the flouting maxim of quality (11,8%), 5 cases of the flouting maxim of relation (23,5%), and a case of the flouting maxim of manner (5,8%). The most dominant maxim was flouted by him is maxim of quantity, the second is maxim of relation ,the third is maxim of quality and the fewest is maxim of manner. From the analysis, flouting maxim of quantity happened, it caused giving too much information than what required. Flouting maxim of quality occured, when he expected the hearer does not know the truthful of it. Besides, flouting maxim of relation happened, it caused he want to change the topic of conversation. The last, he flouted maxim of manner because he did not want to respond to question and expected the hearer interpret the ambiguity of their statements.
