The Effectiveness of Picture Word Inductive Model In Teaching Vocabulary to The Seventh Grade Sudents of MTsN 1 Nganjuk

Abstrak

Vocabulary is important for the students. On the other hand, the students always have difficulty when they get some new words. Because they do not know the meaning. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of picture word inductive model in teaching vocabulary to the seventh grade of MTsN 1 Nganjuk. The design of this study is quasi experimental rearch. The subject of the research is the students at the seventh grade of MTsN 1 Nganjuk in the second semester in the academic year of 2018/2019 that Experimental Class is 30 students and Control Class is 30 students. The subject are divided into two classes. Class C is taught by using picture word inductive model and class E is taught by using conventional teaching. To collect the data, the researcher used pretest and post test experimental and control group. The result of the test was analyzed by using ANCOVA throught SPSS 21. Based on the data analysis, the result statistical computation of ANCOVA reveals that the significant result (p) 0,000 < 0,05 level. Since the significant value was smaller than 0,05 statistically, there was enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis. It means that students who were taught by using picture word inductive model got significantly better vocabulary mastery than the students who were taught by using conventional teaching. It can be concluded that the using of picture word inductive model is more effective than using conventional teaching.
