Analysis On Vocabulary Knowledge In English Textbook Of Senior High School
Abstrak
A textbook defines what is to be learned (McGrath ,2AA2).It play a role in learners success and failure. Demand the textbook must cover all aspects and a series of activities that can support the achievement of students, analysis of the content of textbook is very necessary in order to improve what is covered in Textbook in order to improve the understanding of learners in the future to achieve the final learner standards. This study is intended to analyze the aspects of Nations Vocabulary Knowledge (2001) in the Kemendikbud English textbook grade twelve. This study categorized as qualitative method. As the instrument of the analysis, first is the researchers involvement and the second is using table of nine aspects of vocabulary knowledge proposed by Nation (2001) The f,rndings showed that the nine aspects of Nation vocabulary knowledge (Spoken form, Written form, Word parts, Form and meaning, Concept and referents, Associations, Grammatical function, Collocations, and Constraint on use) were all can be lound in the activities of Kemendikbud textbook. However, the aspects separate in different, it can be seen from the different percentage. Other finding revealed that the Spoken form and Concept and referents are the most frequently appeared aspects. So, the indicative result indicated that the main goal of this textbook are to make the student able to speak English well and able to translate the meaning of the verb. Therefore, the researcher proposed some suggestions to be considered.
