Abstrak

Vocabulary is an important element in second language learning. By knowing a lot of vocabulary, students can improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of students using cartoons on YouTube for vocabulary mastery. The subjects in this study were first year students of MAN 2 Kediri in class X MIPA 4 for the academic year 2021/2022. This research was conducted during a pandemic, so the researchers only took data from some students who did face-to-face learning at the time of the research. The research uses quantitative methods. In this study, researchers used media that was familiar to students, namely YouTube. The findings show that the value of Sig. class variables. We can see that Sig = 0.125 > 0.05 So, Ha is rejected and H0 is accepted: "There is no significant difference between students who are treated with cartoons on YouTube and students who are treated with cartoons on YouTube." Cartoon films on youtube are effective or not, we can see in the output Parameter Estimates. What we see is the value of the Class variable Sig. With Sig = 0.125 > 0.05. So it can be concluded that the cartoon film media on youtube is not effective for teaching vocabulary learning in class.
