Analysis of Teacher Strategies in Teaching Reading Skills During Offline Learning in Post Covid-19 Pandemic Period

Key Terms: Teaching reading, Teaching challenge, Teaching strategies, Offline in Post COVID-19 In teaching English reading skills while offline learning in middle pandemic era many teachers has challenges. That happens because of many factors, one of the is low of motivation to learn in the class. This problem has a lot of influence on student‟s learning process. The teachers are demanded to be creative by choosing appropriate of strategies. Teacher‟s strategies will help the students in reading skills. From these statement, the researcher analyzed the challenges and the strategies teachers when teaching reading skills in the class at MAN 2 Jombang. The objectives of this research were to find out the challenges and the strategies employed by the teachers in the process pf teaching reading in MAN 2 Jombang academic year of 2021/2022. The design of this reseacrh is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this were English teachers who teach in XI grade of MAN 2 Jombang. There were 2 English teachers as participants. The data of this research were collected by observation and supported by interview. The collected data were: data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. Then, to point out the trustworthiness of the data, this research used methodological triangulation. The results showed that the challenges teacher in the class were: attandance, building motivation, sharing the lesson, vocabulary, reading skills. For the strategies implemented by English teacher were: the English teachers can control and improve students‟ reading during offline learning.
