This study aims to determine the correlation between students’ frequency in watching western movie and their listening skill at the second grade students of MAN 3 Kediri. This research generally answers the question: Is there any correlation between students’ frequency in students who watch western movie and their listening skill? The objective of this study were: To determine whether there is a correlation between students’ frequency in watching western movie and their listening skill. The subjects in this research were class XI students of MAN 3 Kediri, totaling 399 students and 85 students for the sample. To gather the data, the researcher used total random sampling as the technique. The analytical method used in this research was quantitative. The data was collected using two kinds of instruments, namely questionnaire for the frequency of watching western movies and listening test for listening skills.The findings are obtained from the Pearson Product Moments formula. The result of this research show that the Probability score was 0.00 it means there is a correlation between the two variable. Ha calculated with a 5% value of r-table (0.213) is smaller than r-count, so Ha accepted. From these data, it can be seen that the Pearson correlation value or r-count was 0.503. It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) that stated there is a correlation between students’ frequency in watching western movie and their listening skill at MAN 3 Kediri was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) that stated there is no correlation between students’ frequency in watching western movie and their listening skill at MAN 3 Kediri was rejected. Based on this research, it is concluded that the more often the students watch western movies, the better their listening skills will be.
