Literature is a study that has never been discussed throughout history, literature has several forms such as, music, games, short stories, and poem. Poem is one type of literature that continues to develop along with the changing times, one of the old types of poem that is still popular today is Sufi poem originating from the middle east. Sufi poems unique compared to other types of poem, it needs a deep study to understand the meaning of the poem because of the high and unique use of language from the author, islamic values can also be found in almost all Sufi poems. In this study, the researcher chose 3 Sufi poems by Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi to be analysed. This study use descriptive qualitative design. The researcher collected the data from “Poem Hunter” website. Then the researcher analyzes the figurative language contained in the text of the poem and groups its types, then the reseacher analyzed the possible meanings contained in the figurative language Based on the results of the analysis on 3 poems, found 8 types of figurative language they are simile, metaphor, personification, allegory, eponym, hypalase, hyperbole, and repetition. In total there are 44 figurative language that were successfully analyzed from 3 poems by Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi.
