In language learning, speaking is one of the language skills. Speaking is the main goal of the language learning, Nunan states, “success is measured in terms of the ability to carry out a conversation in the (target) language”. It means that speaking is the purpose of language learning. Speaking is the most important skill which has to be mastered. According to brown speaking is crucial part of the language learning process”. Therefore, if the students do not learn how to speak or do not get any opportunity to speak in the language classroom they may soon get bored and lose interest in learning. The problem of this study is formulated as follows: How is the use of English as daily communication at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek? This study is conducted by using a descriptive qualitative design. This research is designed to obtain information concerning the status of phenomenon and directed toward determining the nature of situation as it exists at the time of the study. The subjects of the research are the student of Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek. The instrument of this study is the researcher conducted an interview with the students to complement their response. Then, the researcher takes the findings and draws the conclusion based on the data found. The research findings the use of English as daily communication at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek is: (1) The students at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek conducting discussions in english. (2) The students write and translate English at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek. The activities translate English and writing is done by the students during the learning in the classroom in accordance with a predetermined schedule. (3) The students at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek conducted English speech activity. (4) The students using daily conversation at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek. (5) The students debate in English at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek. (6) The students at Pondok Pesantren Modern Raden Paku Trenggalek do the simulation of role play.
