Educational Value In Graphic Novel “Teaching To Learn”
Abstrak
This thesis aims to find out the educational value that found in the graphic novel “Teaching to Learn”. The data is 7 chapter in graphic novel “Teaching to Learn” to be analyzed. This research used qualitative content analysis study method in analyzing and describing educational value in graphic novel “Teaching to Learn” The researcher analyzed the data by using the documentation method (Bowen,2009), following some steps, first starting from reading the graphic novel carefully, identifying the educational value in every chapter, Highlight every part in graphic novel that have educational value, taking a note in every part the result of highlight, the researcher found 8 types of educational values in the graphic novel “Teaching to Learn” based on El Mubarok theory, and found the graphic novel “Teaching to Learn” has educational value. The result of this study describes educational value found in graphic novel “Teaching to Learn”, all the types of educational value are existed in every chapter. From 7 chapter, there are types of educational value that divide into two educational value such as value of giving and value of being. In the value of being there were found such as honesty, not giving up, self-confidence, brave. In the value of giving there were found loyalty, respect, kindness, fair. The researcher expects this research will be useful for the other researchers who were want to understand more about how the graphic is in various structure and try to deepen knowledge related to literature.
