Keywords: Smartphone, Learning English In todays modern era, technology is increasingly sophisticated and changing the way of human life. One of the sophisticated technologies is the gadget. Gadgets are electronic devices that have features to facilitate human performance. Due to the function of the gadget which has many uses to make it easier for humans to complete their work and also communicate. Most of Indonesias population uses gadgets from small children to adults. So, this study aims to determine the use of gadgets in learning English for students of SMAN 8 Kota Kediri. This research provides benefits, experience, and better knowledge. This study aims to determine the use of gadgets on learning English in students of SMAN 8 Kota Kediri. This type of research uses a descriptive qualitative method. namely research design. The research design is a plan on how to collect and analyze data in accordance with the research objectives. This research is meant to show the use of gadgets in learning English. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Descriptive research is to represent a series of activities that have the same goal of describing situations and phenomena in general with the context as they are through collecting data with a natural background as a direct source with the key research instrument itself. So this study conducted observations, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the applications used at SMAN 8 Kota Kediri are Youtube and Quizizz. Youtube is used to display videos related to the material to be studied. Using Youtube videos students understand better and have more fun. The material that will be explained using Youtube videos will be easier for students to understand because it can arouse students enthusiasm for learning. And for Quizizz it is very suitable to be used as practice questions because in order to be able to find out students understanding to what extent students can understand the material being taught. Most students are above the KKM, so the media used is very suitable for practice questions.
