Keywords: Analysis, Writing, Language Features, and Descriptive Text. This study aims to determine the ability to write descriptive texts of students of class VIII H MTsN 2 Kediri (MTsN Kanigoro). The ability to write descriptive text is one of the requirements that students must possess. Descriptive text is a genre required to be mastered by junior high school students in Indonesia. The researcher wants to investigate how far the skills of class VIII H students in writing descriptive text have increased. This research design is qualitative. The students paticipated in this research were 31 students of class VIII MTsN 2 Kediri (MTsN Kanigoro). A written test was used as the instrument. The result of the test were scored using rubric with aspect including: content, organization, grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics. The results of this study show 0 student or 0% were in the excellent category with a score of (95-100), there are 3 students or 10% were in the very good category with a score (85-94), there are 12 students or 39% were in the good category with a score (75-84), there are 10 students or 32% were in the enough category with a score (60-74), there are 4 students or 13% were in the poor category with a score (55-59), and there are 2 students or 6% were in the very poor category with a score (0-54). The mean content aspect is 98.3 the organization aspect is 60.7, the grammar aspect is 58.7, the vocabulary aspect is 64.5, and the mechanic aspect is 63.5.
