The topic of this research is reading comprehension of narrative text. One of theme is reading comprehension through humorous stories. The problem of the study is “How can the Humorous Stories improve the reading comprehension of third graders of MTs Al Hikmah Pucangsimo Perak Jombang”. This research is conducted at MTs Al Hikmah Pucangsimo Perak Jombang. The design of this research is CAR (Classroom Action Research). The activities in this research are planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research focused on the improving students reading comprehension through humorous stories for third graders of MTs Al Hikmah Pucangsimo Perak Jombang. The classes that chosen IX C. this method conduct 2 cycle, and every cycle is 3 meeting. The students criteria of success if they achieve average score 75 in the class. If the average score of the students get less 75 are failed. The result of the research shows that most students have to achieve humorous stories of reading comprehension in narrative text. It can be seen the percentages in cycle one was 60% where not been successfully yet. Then, in cycle two can improve than cycle one, the percentages of the students score was 80%.
