As words convey meaning, pronunciation is an important aspect in spoken communication. Accurate pronunciation will avoid speaker and listener from misunderstanding. Language will be best learnt when it used actively. From this reason, the researcher decided to use direct method to improve the students’ pronunciation accuracy. It lets students speak as much as they possibly can do, all times in English class they can practice it. Since the researcher has met the students’ problem in their pronunciation accuracy, he decided to help them to solve this problem. This is a classroom action research that was conducted in two cycles. By using direct method, it will force student to communicate in English all the time whether they want they want to or not. Reading aloud, practice, and student self-correction are techniques to implement direct method. Researcher drills the students to pronounce all words which they have learned together. In the second cycle, he drills the students more to make sure that they can pronounce accurately. The result of this study has proved that direct method can be used to improve the students’ pronunciation accuracy. It can be seen from their improvement score from each cycle. There are 40% of the students can pass the final test of first cycle and there are 90% of students can pass the final test of second cycle. So it can be concluded that the more student have time to practice their pronunciation, the better their accuracy will.
