One of the language skills that must be mastered by students is speaking. Not only speaking as the second skill after listening, it is also basic skill of communication that happened daily. In order to communicate to other people, we use speaking almost in our daily life. Considering the importance of speaking skill in daily life for communication purposes, the use of vlog as teaching and speaking media is interesting. This research was aimed to investigate how to use Vlog to improve speaking skills and the subjects of this study were students at MA Negeri 1 Kota Kediri using video blogging (Vlog). It is a moving visual and audio media recording, copying, playback, broadcasting, and display electronic medium. Vlogs can be presented in various topics. One way is to use a vlog in the form of a video tutorial on doing or making something, or what is usually called a procedure for doing something. The procedure text is presented in the form of a video tutorial, making it even more interesting to use as teaching material. It was focused to improve their speaking ability by using procedural text presented in Vlog as teaching media. This study used a qualitative method and the research design was classroom action research (CAR). This study consisted of 1 cycle with 3 meetings. Meeting 1 began with introductions, ice breaking, and a brief explanation of the material. 3 topics were provided for students to choose from which each student would choose to explain in front of the class as a pre-test score. Meeting 2 featured 3 Vlogs followed by grouping students into 6 groups. Each group was given the task to find a Vlog on Youtube about procedural text, then asked to make a Vlog per group. Then at the last meeting students were asked to make individual Vlogs and upload them to their respective Youtube accounts to be assessed as a post-test. The results of the data analysis in this study found that Vlog has a significant influence to improve the speaking skills of students of class X C MAN 1 Kota Kediri. The result in the pre-test showed that students’ speaking ability based on pronounciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and task is 3% of student had low speaking skill, 58% of them were average, and 39% of them were good. After using Vlog in Cycle 1, there was significant improvement that can be seen on the result where there was no longer student whose speaking was low and average, 31% of students were good in speaking, and 69% of students achieved excellent criteria of speaking. These results indicate that vlog can improve the students speaking skill.
