The importance of mastering English for global communication has given rise to various educational initiatives, including in non-traditional environments such as modern Islamic boarding schools. This research focuses on teaching speaking at modern Islamic boarding school Ar-Rahmah, where English is used to improve the student’s speaking skills. The research discusses three main issues: strategies used in teaching speaking skills, problems teachers face, and students’ responses to the bilingual program.
