Keywords : figurative language, song lyrics, humanity values Figurative language is applied in many forms of literary works, including poems, short stories, song lyrics, and so on. Various authors have used figurative language in their literary works to create a special effect by making a creative comparison and to draw the readers imagination to interpret the meaning of the literary works. In song lyrics, figurative language makes the listeners understand the songs meaning and messages.Then, it provides additional beauty and variation to a song. This research aims to find out the kinds of figurative language used in song lyrics related with humanity for Palestine and identify humanity values in song lyrics related with humanity for Palestine. The data of the research is song lyrics by Maher Zain, Sami Yusuf, Michael Heart, Dave Randal, and Lowkey, which contains 8 songs. These lyrics were identified based on Kennedy’s theory (1979) and for humanity values identified based on Jimenez’s (2008) and Singh’s (2009) theory. The result of this research shows that there are 9 kinds of figurative language used in song lyrics related with humanity for Palestine, they are hyperbole (7), irony (6), metaphor (5), personification (4), simile (2), litotes (1), metonymy (2), symbolism (2) and synecdoche (1). Secondly, the researcher found humanity values in song lyrics related with humanity for Palestine consist of self confidence, enthusiasm, strong beliefe, scarifying for other, braevery found in moral values, faith found in spiritual values.
