The aims of this study are to investigate the challenges and strategies in writing article for publication of EFL postgraduate students in IAIN Kediri. Furthermore, it needs to support their skills in process of writing the article. The study was approach through narrative inquiry which focused on EFL postgraduate students’ experience in writing article for publication. The investigation involves four students of EFL postgraduate writing students in IAIN Kediri. Narrative frame and interview were used as the research instruments. The result of the study shows that the students face some challenges in writing articles. There are two type challenges in writing article include discursive and non-discursive challenges. The most students’ challenges in discursive type are paraphrase and structuring arguments. the strategies to solve the challenges like joining training or workshop, reading more sources, practicing, and using sophisticated application. In addition, the common challenges that students’ faced in non-discursive challenges are uninterested topic and plagiarism. The students have to apply some strategies like give motivation, lecturer’ support system, managing time, and choose interested topic.
